Great product! That said, i ordered it pre-set to the location and it came un-set (had to set it myself)
The etched glass does not stand out at all on the white compass face which is a little disappointing. I also checked the box for it to be preprogrammed to my desired location which was not set out of the box. All in all it's overpriced for what it is but I will be keeping it.
My wife was so pleased with the “road trip” we went on together! I called it the “Made Us Tour” and I had her navigate us to 8 significant places that Made Us who we are now. I wrote out why each place was significant and what part of us was “made” there. Then the 9th destination was the restaurant where I proposed, and I gave her a new wedding ring!
The Truest North Compass is so unique, and we are already plotting how we can use it together with the kids for a fun way to engage! What a clever invention!!

This is a wonderful, thoughtfully-designed piece of technology and art that lets you specify a particular destination or even a SERIES of destinations, such as to give to someone on a scavenger hunt. There are so many creative ways to use this, I'm using this for an upcoming graduation celebration, with various gifts at each of the checkpoints it points to around around neighborhood and nearby park. Highly recommended! I can't wait to see what the designer does next.

Customer service is above and beyond. Our anniversary landed on Easter this year. When he opened the gift we realized the coordinates were programed incorrect. No big deal, my first reaction was mistakes happen. I'm sure if we reach out we'll get answers by the following day. Karl responded within an hour of my email! On Easter Sunday!!! Super easy fix! Every year or two, I put on an elaborate treasure hunt at Christmas for my nephews. 2024's was "Penny Pickles the Puzzle Pirate Part 2: The Confounding Case of the Captivating Compass"
(Penny Pickles is my dog, and the treasure hunt is always something "she crated")
The compass worked great and the nephews really leaned into the whole thing this year as it took them from location to location, getting parts of clues that led to the final treasure.
I can't tell you how excited I was to buy this when I first came across the Kickstarter. As production got closer and closer to a reality it became refined and somehow even cooler than the original idea. This was easily my favorite gift to give my fiance and the greatest way to remember the day we got engaged

My wife asked me if my her Christmas present would make her cry, I said I wasnt sure. The compass pointing to our wedding location with our wedding song inscribed in the glass certainly moved her to tears, in the best way.
My partner proposed to me under my favorite tree and we are having our very small wedding there. Shortly thereafter we'll be moving across the country. This really was made for us. I'm excited for a smaller version. That will make a wonderful anniversary gift.
