I opted for a custom face plate, of my own design and had many, many questions. The craftsman responded promptly, and also sent pictures for approval, before he eloquently placed together this masterpiece of a compass which will now become a family heirloom! There was not one spot or blemish on the compass or the box. The attention to detail blew me away. From the felt inside the box, to the copper, and the wood that’s surrounded the destination where my family began. This destination of matrimony will now be able to be passed down through generations; thanks to a generous craftsman who not only takes pride in his work, but also the customer service that he provides. Not only did this timeless classic compass bring my wife to tears of joy, but also my children loved the idea of being able to take a piece of their parents and carry it with them forever.
The compass is absolutely fantastic! I gave it to my wife during our vows to mark the spot of our "truest north" - each other.
In marriage, life is an adventure and like any great adventure you can get a little lost, but as long as we remember our promises, the spot we vowed for better or worse, we can find our way! It sits on our console table always reminding us no matter where we are or where life takes us as we grow older, exactly where the chapter of the rest of our life started.
I used it as a proposal and it worked great! It was very easy to program and use and the build quality and finish is terrific. I'm going to be using it for years to come for other occasions.
